Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing has issued a massive recall of approximately 1,024,407 vehicles across the United States after regulators discovered a software defect in the Panoramic View Monitor system. According to a notice filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on November 5, 2025, the problem can cause the rear‑view camera image to freeze or fail to display, increasing the risk of a crash.

The recall primarily affects Toyota models equipped with the Panoramic View Monitor. Dealers will update the software to fix the issue. Owners will be notified by mail and advised when to schedule the free repair.
